Asheboro Public Library children's programs

Come "Catch the Reading Bug" with us at the Asheboro Public Library this summer.We have film programs, storytimes and schoolage programs each week through the first week in August. All our programs are free and open to the public. There are also some special events throughout the summer. Didgeridoo Down Under will be here on June 17th at 7:oo p.m. You can hear some didgeridoos being played and learn about Australia. Ronald McDonald will visit us on July 9th with his "Book Time with Ronald McDonald" program. Mark Daniel, "Magical Storyteller"will amaze us with his Catch the Reading Bug program on August 6th at 1:30 p.m. This program will take place at Asheboro Friends Meeting Fellowship Hall. The church is located at the corner of Main and Kivett streets in Asheboro.

Babana Split Finale
















We created a giant banana split as our finale for the summer reading program. The children were also treated to a great movie. We thank the Asheboro Friends Meeting for the use of their facilities for our program.










Our summer programs ended with a bang when Mark Daniel made his annual summer visit to the library.






Warren Edwards, NASA educator, presented some great information about the Space Shuttle
program to our kids on July 24th.

Asheboro resident Tim Womick visited the library on July 18th. He calls himself a modern Johnny Appleseed. Tim shared an energetic and informative program about the benefits of trees. Our kids had a great time!

Southwest High School Drama Club
















Everyone enjoyed the Who Dunnit presented by the Southwest High School Drama Club on July 12th. Volunteers from the audience bacame part of a human machine at the end of the program.

Breakfast With Santa and Kimberly

A good time was had by all at the Asheboro Public Library on Saturday Nov. 18, 2006. The children visited with children's book author Kimberly Johnson and Santa after breakfast. This event was sponsored by the Friends of the Randolph Public Library and Hospice of Randolph. Many thanks to Chick-Fil-A for providing breakfast.
